Gail Hughes Donaldson has dedicated her legal career to guiding individuals through financial challenges, including bankruptcy, foreclosure, and debt relief. Gail began her academic journey at Auburn University at Montgomery, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Justice and Public Safety in 1993. She later pursued her legal studies at Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, earning her Juris Doctor in 1999. During law school, she distinguished herself by earning the Best Paper Award in Trial Advocacy in 1998 and became a member of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity.

Gail’s professional career began in 1993 when she joined a legal practice as a paralegal, building a foundation of knowledge in bankruptcy and commercial matters. After admission to the Alabama State Bar in 2000, she expanded her practice to include cases before the United States District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama, and later the United States Tax Court in 2014. She has remained active in the Montgomery County Bar Association and the Bankruptcy and Commercial Section of the Alabama State Bar.

Gail’s contributions extend beyond client representation. She has been a guest attorney on the Beasley Allen Report and WSFA Business Break, sharing insights on bankruptcy law. She has also spoken at continuing legal education programs, including presentations for Montgomery Area Legal Professionals. Additionally, she trained attorneys through “Bankruptcy Basics: The Nuts & Bolts” sessions for Legal Services of Alabama. Her expertise has been recognized with professional honors, including being named a Top Bankruptcy Attorney in Birmingham and earning placement in Super Lawyers and the Montgomery Advertiser Reader’s Choice Award.
