Frederick L. Sosinsky

Frederick L. Sosinsky is a New York City criminal defense lawyer at Sosinsky Law, with more than 30 years of experience representing individuals and businesses in state and federal matters. He has tried over 70 cases to jury verdicts and litigated hundreds of evidentiary hearings before and after trial. His practice includes white-collar offenses, fraud, money laundering, tax crimes, narcotics charges, violent crimes, murder, sex offenses, domestic violence, and identity theft. He also advises individuals under investigation and works to prevent criminal charges from being filed.

Frederick graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983. He earned his J.D. with honors from Fordham University School of Law in 1986, finishing within the top 10% of his class. After working for a large corporate law firm during law school, he began his career as a New York City public defender. He developed extensive courtroom experience in that position before joining Litman, Asche, Lupkin & Gioiella, where he became a partner and represented clients in high-profile criminal cases.

Frederick later established his own practice and continued representing clients in complex investigations, trials, appeals, and sentencing proceedings. Detailed investigations and motion practice have helped him obtain dismissals in hundreds of serious cases before trial. His federal sentencing advocacy has also resulted in sentences below prosecutors’ requests and applicable guidelines. He practices primarily in New York’s state and federal courts, although clients have retained him for matters in other jurisdictions. He is admitted in New York and before the Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of New York.

Frederick L. Sosinsky serves as president of the New York Criminal Bar Association after spending nearly 20 years on its board. He also serves on the First Department Assigned Counsel Plan’s Screening Committee and belongs to several criminal defense organizations. He has taught continuing legal education programs, lectured at law schools, and appeared as a legal commentator. His professional recognition includes repeated selection to New York Super Lawyers and membership in the National Trial Lawyers Top 100.
