About
Fred Snodgrass is an attorney at Frontier Law Firm in Billings, Montana. His practice focuses on criminal defense, family law, and personal injury matters. He began his legal career as a prosecutor before moving into private practice, giving him experience with criminal proceedings from different perspectives. His work includes representing Montana clients in contested legal matters that may involve court hearings, negotiations, and trial preparation.
Fred graduated from the University of Montana School of Law in 2001. He spent nearly three years at the Yellowstone County Attorney’s Office after law school before entering private practice in 2004. That early prosecution experience provided practical exposure to evidence, court procedure, and the management of criminal cases. His professional development later expanded into family law, injury claims, and treatment court work.
He has worked with Montana treatment courts since 2006 and has presented nationally on treatment court issues. He joined the faculty of All Rise’s Impaired Driving Solutions division in 2022. This involvement complements his criminal defense practice and reflects his experience with the intersection of court supervision, impaired driving allegations, and treatment-oriented programs. He also assists clients with family and personal injury disputes.
Fred Snodgrass received the State Bar of Montana’s Bousliman Professionalism Award in 2020 and the Yellowstone Area Bar Association’s Professionalism Award in 2021. He has also received a peer rating through Martindale-Hubbell. His practice combines courtroom experience, ongoing involvement with treatment courts, and representation across criminal, family, and injury matters in Montana.
