Franklin Drake has built a long-standing career concentrating on creditors’ rights, creditors’ bankruptcy, and commercial litigation. Over the years, he has guided credit unions, lenders, and financial institutions in enforcing contracts, reducing losses, and addressing fraud. His work also includes helping clients navigate increasingly complex federal compliance matters with practical, clear strategies.

Franklin completed his academic path at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before earning his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law. His admissions to practice in Kentucky, North Carolina, and West Virginia reflect a broad legal reach. He also holds the designation Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist, supporting his work with regulated financial entities.

Franklin has contributed significantly to shaping legal understanding in the financial sector. In Kentucky, he played an active role in drafting laws governing judgments and garnishments, as well as the forms and procedures used for judgment execution and foreign judgment registration. His teaching experience includes leading courses on bankruptcy and commercial law for state and national banking and credit union organizations, along with presenting compliance programs to lenders needing up-to-date guidance.

Franklin Drake has earned recognition for his work, including being listed as a Best Lawyer in the 22nd Edition of The Best Lawyers in America©. His leadership also extends to public service, having served as Wake Forest Town Commissioner for eight years and contributing to boards involving fire services and historic preservation.
