Frank Johan Coumou

Frank Johan Coumou is a criminal defense attorney with De Castroverde Law Group in Las Vegas. He represents clients facing serious state and federal criminal charges and brings more than three decades of criminal law experience to that work. His background includes extensive service as a prosecutor, giving him direct familiarity with charging decisions, investigations, trial preparation, and courtroom strategy. He uses that experience to evaluate the government’s case and prepare focused defenses.

Coumou earned a B.A. from Loyola University in 1988 and a J.D. from Loyola University in 1991. His legal education provided the foundation for a career devoted largely to criminal law and courtroom practice. After law school, he built experience in public service roles involving federal and state prosecutions, violent crime, homicide, firearms offenses, and coordinated enforcement efforts before moving into criminal defense representation.

Coumou previously served as an Assistant US Attorney and later spent about twenty-five years with the Clark County District Attorney’s Office. His roles included Chief of the Homicide Unit and Chief of the Gun Crimes Unit, along with work on the office’s Use-of-Force team and Project Safe Neighborhoods. Those assignments involved serious felony prosecutions, law enforcement issues, and complex trial decisions, giving him substantial insight into how criminal cases are developed.
