Evan Burford

Evan Burford is an attorney with Felling & Reid, LLC in Albany, Oregon, where his practice focuses on criminal defense. He represents people accused of crimes and develops defense strategies around the client’s priorities, available evidence, and procedural options. Evan earned a B.S. from Oregon State University in 2017 and a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2020. During law school, he completed internships with several Public Defender offices, gaining early exposure to criminal defense and the realities faced by accused people. His education and defender experience provided a foundation in legal research, client counseling, case investigation, constitutional issues, and the procedural rules that shape criminal prosecutions.

After graduation, Evan served as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Debra E. Velure of the Lane County Circuit Court. That role gave him direct insight into court operations, judicial decision-making, and the presentation of legal arguments from the perspective of the bench. He now applies that experience in criminal defense, where he works to identify options, evaluate risk, negotiate where appropriate, and prepare legal and factual arguments for hearings or trial.

Evan Burford is admitted to practice in Oregon and is a member of the Linn-Benton Bar and the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. His practice combines public defense internships, judicial clerkship experience, and current criminal defense work in the Mid-Valley. Evan’s client-centered approach is designed to help people understand the choices available to them while building a defense strategy that responds to the evidence, the law, and the individual priorities of the person he represents.
