Erika Scott is the Owner and Managing Partner of Winer, Burritt, Scott & Jacobs, LLP, whose practice focuses on childhood sexual abuse, therapist abuse, and employment law. She represents clients in harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and other civil rights matters. Her work has increasingly centered on survivors of institutional childhood sexual abuse and patients harmed by therapists or medical providers. She has litigated hundreds of cases against major defense firms and handles matters through trial, mediation, and early resolution.

Erika earned her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law and completed a certificate in Public Interest Law. She served on the Moot Court Board and received several academic honors, including CALI Excellence Awards and a Witkin Award. She earned her B.A. in Women’s Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. During law school, she led public-interest student organizations and volunteered with Equal Rights Advocates.

Erika represents survivors in cases involving childhood sexual abuse, therapist abuse, workplace harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Her practice examines emotional distress damages and abuses of power within employment, therapeutic, medical, and institutional relationships. She returned to private practice after nonprofit work focused on social justice and advocacy. Her litigation experience includes hundreds of cases and substantial use of mediation and trial strategy to pursue relief for individuals whose civil rights were violated.

Erika Scott is licensed in California and admitted to the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Her career has consistently focused on representing individuals harmed by discrimination, abuse, retaliation, and institutional misconduct. She combines trial experience, mediation work, public-interest advocacy, and civil rights litigation when developing strategies for clients facing serious personal and workplace harms.
