About
Eric S. Maciolek is a criminal defense attorney based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, with experience handling more than 2,000 criminal cases across multiple counties. He represents individuals facing charges ranging from misdemeanors and traffic offenses to sexual assault and homicide. His practice also includes operating while intoxicated (OWI) cases and serious felony charges. Eric focuses on protecting clients’ rights, challenging the prosecution’s evidence, and developing defense strategies based on each case’s circumstances.
Eric earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2002, where he also studied molecular biology. He later received his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, earning Dean’s List honors. During law school, he ranked among the top participants in a yearlong competitive trial advocacy program and completed advanced criminal law courses. His scientific background strengthened his interest in forensic evidence and its application in criminal proceedings.
Eric gained early courtroom experience through DePaul’s Death Penalty Clinic, where he interviewed incarcerated clients, drafted defense motions, and helped prepare capital cases for trial. He also worked with the Federal Defender Program in Chicago and, while still a law student, tried a federal case involving a client facing life imprisonment. After returning to Wisconsin, he served as an attorney with the Wisconsin State Public Defender from 2007 to 2018. His litigation experience includes successfully suppressing evidence in felony, misdemeanor, and OWI cases and securing not-guilty verdicts in multiple criminal trials.
Eric S. Maciolek was admitted to the Wisconsin bar in 2007 and has served on the board of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also affiliated with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and NORML. With extensive trial experience and a background in forensic science, Eric brings detailed preparation and a client-centered approach to criminal litigation. He remains committed to challenging evidence, defending constitutional rights, and providing strong courtroom representation to individuals facing criminal charges.
