About

Eric P. Habich is an OWI and criminal defense lawyer with Grieve Law whose work includes criminal cases requiring negotiation, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy. His prior experience spans civil litigation, family law, and criminal defense, giving him exposure to several forms of contested legal work. In criminal matters, he has achieved charge reductions and dismissals through negotiation and motions, using detailed preparation to address the evidence and legal issues in each case.

Habich earned an undergraduate degree in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2011. During law school, he worked with a local firm and later interned at the Wisconsin Court of Appeals in Madison. This training and appellate exposure developed research, writing, and case-analysis skills that support his present work in OWI and criminal defense matters.

Habich’s post-law-school experience includes leading document review teams in large civil litigation cases, negotiating outcomes in family law matters, and handling criminal defense motions and negotiations. That varied background gave him experience organizing large records, evaluating disputed facts, and presenting legal arguments in different procedural settings. His criminal defense practice draws on those skills when challenging charges, negotiating resolutions, and preparing matters for hearings or other court proceedings.

Eric P. Habich has been admitted to the State Bar of Wisconsin since 2011. His current work centers on OWI and criminal defense, supported by experience across civil litigation, family law, and appellate settings. He brings a research-focused and motion-oriented background to cases where clients need careful review of evidence, clear legal arguments, and practical defense strategy through negotiation and courtroom proceedings.
