Emily Leazer is an attorney at Griffing Leazer, PLLC, whose practice focuses on tax, corporate, and estate planning law matters. She has more than 20 years of experience working with the Internal Revenue Service, North Carolina Department of Revenue, and other taxing authorities to resolve tax controversies. Emily earned her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Then, she completed a joint J.D. and M.B.A. at Campbell University. She later earned her LL.M. in Taxation from Villanova University. She is also a licensed CPA. Her combined legal, business, accounting, and tax background supports her work on matters involving entity planning, taxation, estate administration, and financially complex legal issues.
Emily advises clients on forming, operating, succeeding, and dissolving business entities, including sole proprietorships, LLCs, S corporations, and C corporations. She reviews and drafts leases, customer agreements, supplier contracts, and other business documents and helps owners develop succession strategies involving family transfers, sales, or dissolution. Her estate practice includes wills, powers of attorney, living wills, health care powers of attorney, HIPAA releases, tax planning, probate administration, estate and gift tax returns, elder law, and Medicaid planning.
