About

Emily B. Franke concentrates her practice on business transactional matters, estate planning, probate, and estate administration for individuals and closely held businesses. She also advises clients on employment-related issues, including non-compete agreements and contract negotiations, delivering practical legal solutions to support long-term stability and growth.

Emily’s background includes significant litigation experience, which informs her transactional approach today. She began her legal career as an assistant public defender, representing clients charged with serious felonies, gaining valuable trial and courtroom experience. She later continued litigating in private practice, focusing on domestic relations and juvenile law matters.

After several years in litigation-focused roles, Emily transitioned her practice toward transactional law, allowing her to help clients proactively address legal issues before disputes arise. This combination of trial and transactional experience enables her to provide pragmatic, risk-aware guidance to avoid costly litigation whenever possible.

Emily earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia, graduating magna cum laude in 2005. She then received an academic merit scholarship to Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2009, further strengthening her foundation in legal analysis and advocacy.

Before joining Lindsey & Lacy, PC, Emily B. Franke practiced at a boutique firm in Fayette County, becoming a partner in 2019. There, she developed extensive experience in estate planning and business transactions. She is known for her thoughtful counsel, attention to detail, and commitment to helping clients navigate complex legal matters efficiently and effectively.
