About
Elisabeth A. Pellegrin is an Oakland immigration and nationality law attorney whose private practice has focused exclusively on immigration matters since 2011. She represents people pursuing family-based immigration, asylum and humanitarian relief, naturalization, and other immigration benefits. Her work includes waivers involving inadmissibility and cases complicated by criminal convictions or a client’s immigration history. She handles each case directly, helping clients prepare applications, collect evidence, respond to government requests, and pursue appeals when necessary.
Elisabeth earned a Bachelor of Arts from Bard College, majoring in Political Studies with a concentration in Latin American and Iberian Studies. She later received a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. At law school she participated in the Hastings Race and Poverty Law Journal and work related to refugees and human rights. Her education supports a practice that often involves complex legal procedures, vulnerable applicants, and immigration consequences for families.
Elisabeth previously worked with nonprofit legal service organizations and immigration practices, including the Center for Gender and Refugee Studies and the International Institute of the Bay Area. She assists with fiancé and family immigrant petitions, legal permanent residency, U and T visa matters, asylum, protection under the Convention Against Torture, and applications under the Violence Against Women Act. Her practice also includes Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and naturalization matters. She represents immigrants from many countries and works in English and Spanish.
Elisabeth A. Pellegrin is a Certified Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law through the State Bar of California. She has served in leadership roles with the Alameda County Bar Association’s Immigration Section and the Northern California chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She also participates in the National Lawyers Guild and has taught or presented on immigration issues. Her work combines detailed case preparation with direct communication about the legal options available to each client.
