Eleana Stevens is an associate attorney at Knauss Law Firm in Kirkland, Washington. Her work focuses on criminal defense and the practical challenges individuals face when accused of crimes. She helps clients understand court procedures, evaluate potential resolutions, and prepare for hearings and trial. Her approach reflects experience handling substantial public defense caseloads and an emphasis on the consequences that criminal allegations can have for a client’s future.

Eleana earned her law degree from the University of Washington School of Law. There, she co-led the Washington Innocence Project Student Chapter and represented clients through the Race and Justice Clinic. She also earned a B.A. in Law, Societies, and Justice from the University of Washington. Her undergraduate work examined racial disparities in juvenile diversion programs, while her legal education deepened her involvement with criminal justice and direct client representation.

Her responsibilities included preparing motions, negotiating pleas, preparing cases for trial, and trying criminal matters. She also worked in civil litigation representing injured workers in Washington Labor and Industries claims. That combination gave her experience with contested facts, client interviews, administrative proceedings, and negotiations.

Eleana Stevens brings a client-centered perspective to criminal cases that developed through public defense work and participation in criminal justice initiatives. While a student, she visited incarcerated people through the University Behind Bars program, an experience that informed her decision to pursue criminal defense. She uses preparation and straightforward communication to guide clients through important decisions. Her work remains focused on protecting individual rights and helping people navigate the criminal justice system.
