E. Peter Mullane

E Peter Mullane is the Managing Partner of Mullane, Michel & McInnes, LLP, bringing decades of legal experience to clients across Massachusetts. His practice reflects a lifelong commitment to public service, private advocacy, and principled representation, developed through government service and long-standing private practice across a range of legal matters.

Peter earned both his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor degrees from Boston University, establishing an academic foundation. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1968, to the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts in 1970, to the First Circuit Court of Appeals in 1972, and to the U.S. Supreme Court in 2020.

Peter began his legal career as a Massachusetts Public Defender from 1969 to 1972, then served as an Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County from 1972 to 1973. These early roles shaped his courtroom skills, public service values, and commitment to fair and ethical legal representation for clients statewide.

Peter entered private practice by joining Brown, Rudnick as a Junior Partner from 1976 to 1979. In 1984, he co-founded Mullane, Michel & McInnes, LLP, where he has practiced for over four decades, building lasting client relationships and a reputation for consistency, reliability, and professional excellence.

Peter’s practice includes commercial real estate, corporate and business matters, and criminal and civil litigation. He is known for thoughtful analysis, practical guidance, and steady leadership in complex cases, serving individuals and organizations with diligence while addressing legal challenges efficiently and responsibly across multiple areas of law.
