About
Dyan Williams is a founder and principal attorney whose practice covers U.S. immigration law, legal ethics, and professional responsibility. Her immigration work focuses on difficult cases involving marriage fraud findings, inadmissibility, waivers, visa refusals, immigration violations, crime-related bars, and complex naturalization matters. She also advises solo and small-firm lawyers on ethical duties, conflicts, communication, diligence, and fee agreements.
Dyan earned a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in 2005, where she participated in law review and trial advocacy and received a scholarship based on academic credentials. She also holds an M.A. in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and Political Science from the University of Minnesota.
Dyan began working full time in immigration law in 2002 while attending law school and later became a managing attorney. She established her own practice in October 2014 after more than a decade in the field. Her work includes written advocacy in federal immigration matters, and she has counseled lawyers on professional responsibility since 2006. Earlier experience as a communication consultant also informs her clear, structured approach to complex legal issues.
Dyan Williams is admitted to the Minnesota Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, and the Seventh and Eighth Circuit Courts of Appeals. She has taught as an adjunct professor and has written and presented on immigration, professional responsibility, and productivity. Her practice combines detailed case analysis with practical guidance for clients facing high-stakes immigration decisions or legal ethics questions.
