Drew Hancherick

Drew Hancherick is an associate attorney at Balcomb & Green, P.C. in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. His practice includes water law, real estate, land use, civil litigation, regulatory matters, government law, and business issues. He works on legal questions involving natural resources, public projects, property development, and the relationships between governments and private parties. He clerked in Perkins Coie’s Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources group and interned with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Western Urban Water Coalition. Through a legal clinic, he also worked on water and resource matters affecting farmers, ranchers, and landowners.

Drew previously served as Assistant District Counsel to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, advising on water resources projects, water rights, and partnerships with tribal, state, and local governments. Earlier, he practiced in Oregon on real estate, land use, civil litigation, business, and government matters. He joined Balcomb & Green in June 2025. His experience crosses public agency counseling, private practice, and issues where regulatory requirements affect resource use and property interests.

Drew Hancherick is admitted to practice in Colorado and Oregon and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. His background in governmental legal work and natural resources law supports clients navigating water-related and land use questions. He draws on experience advising on public projects and working with different levels of government. His current practice connects legal analysis of property and resources with the practical requirements of transactions, disputes, and regulatory compliance.
