Drew A. Anderson is a partner at Murray Plumb & Murray in Portland, Maine, and chairs the firm’s Real Estate & Real Estate Finance Practice Group. His practice spans commercial real estate and business and corporate law. Anderson advises clients on property acquisitions, sales, development projects, leasing transactions, financing arrangements, and business matters. With more than 35 years of experience, he helps owners, developers, lenders, borrowers, and businesses structure transactions and address legal issues connected to real estate and corporate operations.
Anderson earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, where he served as a staff member and literary editor of the Suffolk University Law Review. He received his B.A. cum laude from Boston College. After law school, he served as a judicial clerk to Justice Stewart G. Pollock of the New Jersey Supreme Court. His legal education and clerkship provided a strong foundation in research, analysis, writing, and the careful evaluation of complex transactional and legal issues.
Anderson’s real estate work includes purchasing, selling, and developing commercial and industrial properties and multifamily apartment projects, as well as leasing for landlords and tenants. He represents lenders and borrowers in a variety of loan transactions and assists developers with residential and office condominiums, Qualified Opportunity Zone investments, and Section 1031 exchanges. His corporate work includes stock and asset transactions, shareholder agreements, and the formation of limited liability companies and other business entities.
Drew A. Anderson is admitted to practice in Maine, Massachusetts, and New York. He also leads the firm’s title services group, which provides title insurance products to real estate owners.
