About
Donald G. Tye is a founding partner and longtime co-chair of the Domestic Relations Practice Group at Prince Lobel Tye LLP, bringing more than forty-five years of experience as a trial attorney, guardian ad litem, arbitrator, and child advocate. His practice spans complex family law, custody matters, and appellate advocacy.
Donald earned his J.D. and M.S.W. in a joint program at Washington University in St. Louis and holds a B.A. from Tufts University. His extensive credentials include admission to federal and state courts, as well as his longstanding service as an attorney for children through the Massachusetts ARC program for many years.
A fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Donald has held national leadership roles, including co-chairing legislative initiatives and contributing to committees focused on children’s issues. He served as president of the Massachusetts chapter and continues to serve on its Board of Managers, shaping family law practice statewide.
Donald’s scholarship appears in leading family law journals, and he is a frequent lecturer at law schools, bar associations, and national conferences. He has chaired or presented at over one hundred CLE programs, providing guidance on trial practice, custody issues, forensic evaluations, ethics, and immigration-related challenges in court proceedings.
Active in public service, Donald has served on the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Commission, the Anti-Defamation League’s Civil Rights Committee, and the statewide Voice of the Child task force. His leadership includes roles with the Ford Hall Forum, the Massachusetts Bar Foundation, and the Massachusetts Association of Guardians Ad Litem.
