Devon Bodoh

Devon Bodoh is a tax partner based in Miami and Washington, D.C. who leads merger and acquisition tax and international and cross-border tax practices. He advises companies and investors on acquisitions, spinoffs, restructurings, and related transaction planning. His work also covers corporate tax attributes, bankruptcy and nonbankruptcy workouts, consolidated returns, and the use of net operating losses and foreign tax credits.

Devon earned a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1995 and a J.D. from the University of Detroit in 1998. He later completed an LL.M. at New York University in 2000. His education in business and law supports work involving U.S. taxation, international structures, corporate reorganizations, and the tax consequences of substantial transactions involving businesses across several jurisdictions.

Devon previously led KPMG’s Global Complex Transactions group and its Washington National Tax International M&A practice. His representative work includes tax advice connected to the approximately $18 billion Bunge-Viterra business combination, Dun & Bradstreet’s $7.7 billion sale, and a proposed $80 billion Aon-Willis Towers Watson combination. He has advised on deals involving SPAC mergers, large corporate acquisitions, financing, and restructuring across multiple industries.

Devon Bodoh has been recognized by Chambers USA for tax law and included among Lawdragon’s leading dealmakers and tax lawyers. He regularly speaks on international tax and transaction issues and has taught as an adjunct law professor. His leadership roles and prior accounting-firm experience support an approach that considers both the technical tax rules and the commercial goals of transactions.
