Deirdre Gleason

Deirdre Gleason is the owner of Western Mass Estate Planning and has practiced law since 2011, with an emphasis on estate planning and elder law since 2018. She works with individuals, couples, and families on planning designed to preserve assets, address estate tax concerns, and organize real estate and other property. Her practice includes MassHealth planning and guidance for clients preparing for assisted living or skilled nursing needs alongside broader estate planning decisions.

Deirdre earned a B.A. in Environmental Science and Policy, International Studies Stream, from Clark University. She received a J.D. from Western New England University School of Law and later earned a Master of Laws in Environmental Law, cum laude, from Vermont Law School. Her legal education and later focus on estate and elder law support careful planning around property, long-term care, family objectives, and legal documents designed to protect clients and their assets.

Deirdre practiced civil litigation in Santa Fe, New Mexico, for four years before building a practice focused on estate planning and elder law. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar, and her New Mexico Bar status is inactive. Her current work includes planning for long-term care, MassHealth eligibility, asset preservation, estate taxes, and real estate concerns. She became the sole owner of Western Mass Estate Planning on January 1, 2025.
