Debra Reece

Debra Reece is the Managing Attorney of the Appellate Division at Lion Legal in Arkansas. Her background includes criminal defense, appeals, and family law matters. She spent 23 years in solo practice, concentrating mainly on Criminal Defense and Appeals, before joining her current team. She emphasizes constitutional protections and attentive client relationships, recognizing that seeking legal representation is often stressful for individuals and families.

Debra earned a B.A. from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and earned her J.D. from its William H. Bowen School of Law. She attended law school part time while working full time and graduated first in her class. She later clerked for Justice Annabelle Clinton Imber at the Arkansas Supreme Court, gaining experience with appellate issues and judicial decision-making after her studies.

Debra’s earlier professional work included private investigation, the DHS Special Investigation Unit, and the Office of Long Term Care. She also worked in hospital admissions and statistics. Since 2004, she has taught alongside practicing law, including courses in Legal Writing, Criminal Procedure Post-Trial, Fourth Amendment Seminar, and Writing for the Bar. This experience combines investigation, courtroom practice, and sustained work with legal research and writing.

Debra Reece has served on the board of the Arkansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and has belonged to the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association and Arkansas Bar Association. Her teaching and appellate work reflect close attention to legal reasoning and constitutional questions.
