David Weisselberger

David Weisselberger is the founder of Erase The Case, a Florida law firm dedicated exclusively to expunging and sealing criminal records. A former Assistant Public Defender, he has built his legal career around advocating for individuals whose past encounters with the justice system continue to create barriers to employment, housing, and opportunity. His work is driven by the belief that a single mistake—or even an arrest that never resulted in a conviction—should not define a person’s future or limit their ability to move forward.

David earned his B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Florida before pursuing his legal education. He received his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law, and later completed additional legal studies at the University of Miami School of Law. His academic background helped shape his analytical approach to the law and reinforced his commitment to fairness, due process, and long-term solutions for individuals affected by the criminal justice system.

During his time as a Public Defender, David represented thousands of clients across a wide range of criminal matters. Through this experience, he gained firsthand insight into how criminal records continue to impact people long after their cases are resolved. He saw clients struggle with background checks, denied opportunities, and the lasting stigma of public records, which ultimately inspired him to focus his practice on post-case relief and record clearing.

David Weisselberger founded Erase The Case to create a streamlined, client-focused approach to expungement and record sealing. Under his leadership, the firm handles cases across all 67 Florida counties, guiding clients through eligibility review, court filings, and post-order follow-up with state agencies and background-check companies. Known for his practical advice and attention to detail, David focuses exclusively on expungement, record sealing, and criminal history relief, helping clients pursue new opportunities with confidence and peace of mind.
