David R. Haberbush

David R. Haberbush is a California attorney at  Haberbush, LLP, with more than 30 years of experience in bankruptcy law, insolvency, receiverships, general assignments, and debtor-creditor litigation. He represents debtors, creditors, receivers, trustees, and other parties in reorganizations and liquidations. His work includes business litigation in state and federal courts, jury trials, private arbitrations, and matters before bankruptcy and appellate courts. He has appeared in matters before the US Supreme Court and other federal and state courts.

Mr. Haberbush earned a B.S. from Whittier College and a J.D., cum laude, from Whittier College School of Law. During law school, he served as a legal extern to Chief US Bankruptcy Judge William J. Lasarow for the Central District of California. His education provided a foundation for a career focused on bankruptcy, insolvency, and business-related disputes.

Mr. Haberbush has represented creditors, debtors, receivers, and bankruptcy trustees in cases under Chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. He has served as a federal and state court receiver in matters involving real estate, law firms, mortgage companies, automotive businesses, restaurants, and other organizations. His experience includes service as a bankruptcy trustee, assignee for the benefit of creditors, state-court referee, third-party director in ownership deadlocks, and arbitrator. He has managed reorganizations, liquidations, asset sales, and litigation arising from financially distressed businesses.

David R. Haberbush continues to handle bankruptcy, insolvency, fiduciary, and business litigation matters. His professional background includes leadership of debtor-creditor and bankruptcy practices, service on trustee panels, and work as a standing Chapter 12 trustee. He has lectured on bankruptcy law and related topics for legal and professional organizations.
