David J. Hellstern

David J. Hellstern is a shareholder with Simpson, Jensen, Abels, Fischer & Bouslog, P.C. in Des Moines. His practice includes business and corporate law, litigation, estate planning and administration, wills, trusts, probate, and real estate. He advises businesses and individuals on formation, contracts, negotiations, acquisitions, ownership issues, property matters, and disputes that may require negotiation, trial, or appellate review.

David earned a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Iowa in 2000 and a J.D. from Drake University Law School in 2004. His business education and legal training provide a foundation for matters involving commercial relationships, ownership structures, transactions, and long-term planning. He is admitted in Iowa and before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa and the Eighth Circuit.

David has more than two decades of experience guiding clients through business and individual legal matters. His litigation work includes contract disputes, owner disagreements, construction claims, and estate-related conflicts. He has tried cases before juries and judges across Iowa and handled appeals before the Iowa Supreme Court. His transactional work includes business formation, acquisitions, succession planning, real estate matters, and estate administration.
