David I. Schachter

David I. Schachter is the Founding Member and Managing Partner of The Schachter Law Firm, LLC, in Savannah, Georgia. He focuses exclusively on divorce and family law, representing clients in high-asset divorce cases, complex custody disputes, child support matters, and other challenging domestic relations matters requiring strategic, experienced advocacy.

David earned his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he received multiple CALI Excellence Awards, including in Family Law. During law school, he clerked for a judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. He served on the Executive Editorial Board of an international law journal.

David’s practice regularly involves highly contested custody and parenting time disputes, including international child custody cases and matters involving emerging assets such as cryptocurrency. Clients with complex financial circumstances frequently retain him and have testified as an expert witness regarding legal fees in domestic relations litigation.
