About
David G. Ridings is president and founder of Ridings Law Group, P.C., in Nashville, Tennessee. He concentrates his current practice on criminal defense, representing people charged with offenses including DUI, drug crimes, domestic violence, and weapons violations. His approach is informed by years of law enforcement service and a legal internship with the District Attorney’s Office. He works to evaluate the circumstances of an arrest, the evidence supporting a charge, and the available defense options.
David earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration from Middle Tennessee State University and later completed a master’s degree in the same field there. He received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Nashville School of Law in 1998. His education combines legal study with training in criminal justice systems and law enforcement. This background supports his understanding of investigative procedures, evidence handling, and courtroom process.
Before entering private practice, David worked for the Murfreesboro Police Department and the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, including service as a uniformed and undercover officer. During law school, he completed a supervised internship with the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office. He founded his law firm in 1998 and has since handled a range of legal matters. His more recent practice is specifically devoted to defending criminal allegations.
David G. Ridings uses his earlier law enforcement and prosecutorial experience to assess how criminal cases are investigated and presented. His criminal defense work involves reviewing allegations, identifying procedural or factual issues, and helping defendants understand the potential consequences of their cases. Through Ridings Law Group, he advises clients about charges, court appearances, and practical decisions throughout the defense process.
