David E. Rosen

David E. Rosen is a Partner and founding member of Murphy Rosen LLP, whose practice focuses on complex business and commercial litigation. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts and before arbitration tribunals. His work covers corporate and partnership disputes, breach of contract, fraud, real property disputes, intellectual property rights, and other business torts. He also handles litigation involving entertainment financing, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder actions, real estate transactions, and probate matters.

David earned a J.D. from the University of Southern California in 1991 and a B.A., cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1988. During law school, he was a member of the Order of the Coif and worked with the Southern California Law Review. His academic background established a strong foundation for the legal research, writing, analysis, and advocacy required in complex commercial litigation and appellate matters.

David has tried significant business disputes involving securities, partnerships, trusts, entertainment rights, commercial transactions, and alleged fraud. His experience includes obtaining defense verdicts, arbitration awards, injunctions, and judgments in cases involving substantial financial interests. He has also handled numerous state and federal appeals and serves as an expert witness concerning the reasonableness of attorney fees in business litigation. Before forming his current firm, he practiced at O’Neill, Lysaght & Sun and Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP.

David E. Rosen combines extensive trial and appellate experience with long-standing involvement in legal education and professional service. He has served on the faculty of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy deposition program and lectured at USC Law Center and Pepperdine University School of Law. He has been selected as a Southern California Super Lawyer each year since 2006, and a 2019 defense verdict involving the sale of a Mercedes-Benz dealership received recognition from the Daily Journal.
