About

David Daggett is a partner at Ashurst Perkins Coie with offices in Seattle and Boise. He advises technology clients, including Fortune 50 companies, on intellectual property and commercial matters. His practice focuses on complex licensing and procurement transactions, software development, hardware supply chains, silicon agreements, intellectual property issues in mergers and acquisitions, and technical standards. Daggett also advises clients on coverage law and intellectual property litigation.

Daggett earned his J.D. summa cum laude from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1998 and his B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1987. His legal education, economics background, and earlier technical work provide a strong foundation for evaluating sophisticated technology agreements. This combination supports his ability to understand business priorities, technical requirements, intellectual property rights, and commercial risks when negotiating complex transactions.

Daggett represents technology companies in licensing, development, procurement, and supply arrangements involving software, hardware, silicon, and other technical assets. As a registered patent attorney, he brings patent knowledge to transactional matters and helps clients address ownership, use rights, standards participation, and intellectual property considerations in corporate deals. His prior work includes partnerships at Davis Wright Tremaine, K&L Gates, and Preston Gates Ellis, as well as earlier technology industry experience.

David Daggett has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for intellectual property litigation from 2021 through 2026. He has also contributed to the legal profession as an Idaho State Bar examination grader and served as an adjunct professor at Gonzaga University School of Law from 2001 through 2015. His combination of transactional experience, patent knowledge, and technical understanding helps clients structure important agreements and manage intellectual property and commercial risk.
