David Balmer

David Balmer is a Minnesota criminal defense lawyer and founder of Balmer Law Office, PLLC in Minnetonka. His practice is devoted exclusively to criminal and DWI defense throughout Minnesota. He represents clients facing allegations ranging from traffic offenses and careless driving to serious felony charges, including assault, drug crimes, burglary, weapons offenses, criminal vehicular operation, and homicide. David graduated with honors from Bethel University and William Mitchell College of Law. While attending law school, he volunteered as a student attorney with Minnesota’s public defender system. In that role, he represented clients facing charges ranging from DWI offenses to serious criminal sexual conduct allegations. That early courtroom and defense experience helped establish the foundation for his later criminal practice. Before opening Balmer Law Office in 2012, he worked as a reinsurance broker, where he assisted insurance companies with risk management and the negotiation and placement of significant reinsurance contracts.

David has represented hundreds of clients in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and communities throughout greater Minnesota. His criminal defense work includes cases involving first-degree murder, DWI, drug offenses, assault, sex crimes, weapons allegations, burglary, careless driving, and other misdemeanor and felony charges.
