D. Mr. Murphy earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas in 1990 before receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law in 1993. He was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1993 and the Kansas Bar in 1994 and is licensed by the Supreme Courts of both states. His education and dual-state licensure provide the foundation for a practice that combines criminal defense with business law, estate planning, real estate, and civil matters.

Mr. Murphy has led his firm since 1993, with offices in Kearney and Plattsburg, Missouri. He regularly represents clients in the circuit courts of Clay, Clinton, DeKalb, Platte, Ray, Caldwell, Buchanan, and eastern Jackson counties, as well as municipal courts throughout the Kansas City region, including Kansas City, Liberty, Kearney, Platte City, Smithville, Excelsior Springs, Richmond, Gower, Lathrop, Plattsburg, and Trimble. In addition to criminal defense, he advises clients on business organizations, corporate transactions, wills, trusts, real estate matters, and personal injury claims.
