Craig Hilliard

Craig Hilliard is a Shareholder at Stark & Stark, PC, where he leads the Intellectual Property Litigation Group and serves as the firm’s General Counsel. He focuses his practice on federal civil litigation, including class actions, fraud, securities, employment law, intellectual property, copyright, and trademark disputes, and other complex cases. With extensive trial experience, Mr. Hilliard has acted as lead counsel in federal and state courts across more than 25 states. He has also argued cases before state supreme courts and federal appellate courts, including the Second, Third, and Ninth Circuits.

Craig S. Hilliard earned his J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 1988, graduating cum laude. While at law school, he served as Articles Editor of The Rutgers Law Journal. Then, he also served as a member of the National Moot Court Team. He also holds a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers College, graduating cum laude and earning Phi Beta Kappa membership.

Mr. Hilliard has successfully represented clients in high-profile cases, including major class actions and intellectual property disputes for leading apparel manufacturers throughout his career. He has secured millions of dollars in judgments, obtained permanent injunctions against counterfeiters, and won important jury verdicts that have been upheld on appeal. His work also extends to consumer fraud, employment discrimination, fraud claims, and antitrust litigation.

Craig Hilliard is a certified mediator with the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, where he has mediated numerous cases. He is an adjunct law professor at Rutgers University, teaching trial advocacy, and regularly speaks and writes on litigation topics for professional education programs. His broad experience, litigation success, and leadership in intellectual property make him a respected figure in the legal community.
