Cory F. Gourley

Cory F. Gourley is a Managing Partner/Attorney and founding member of Gourley, Rehkemper & Lindholm PLC in West Des Moines, Iowa. He leads the firm’s wrongful death and traumatic injury division. His practice represents injured people and families pursuing claims involving serious harm. His work includes motor vehicle accidents, injuries on property, animal-related injuries, and claims arising from the injury or death of children.

Cory earned a B.S. with honors in Business from the University of Kansas in 1999. He received a J. D. from Drake University Law School in 2002. He was admitted in Iowa and both federal district courts in the state in 2002, followed by the Eighth Circuit in 2011. His business and legal education preceded a career in litigation and representation of clients with significant injury claims.

Cory has represented clients in jury trials and settlements involving serious injuries and wrongful death. He represented the parents of an injured child in Gray v. Hohenshell, an appellate case in which the court upheld a jury award and denial of a new trial in 2019. His practice also includes traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, amputations, and other harms that can substantially affect a client’s life.

Cory F. Gourley was selected as a Fellow of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers in 2017. His professional involvement includes the Iowa Association for Justice and its Board of Governors. His community service includes board work with the Family Crisis Center. He brings courtroom experience and involvement in trial advocacy organizations to claims seeking compensation for injured clients and families dealing with the loss of a loved one.
