Cody E. Brookhouser-Sisney

Cody E. Brookhouser-Sisney is an experienced litigation attorney who represents clients in employment, commercial, and contract matters. She works with companies of all sizes, offering clear, practical guidance on complex workplace issues. Cody is known for her direct approach and responsiveness, helping clients move forward with confidence and clarity.

Cody earned her Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude, from the University of Arkansas in 2012. She received her Juris Doctor, with High Distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2015. While in law school, she served on the Iowa Law Review and the Journal of Gender, Race & Justice and received multiple faculty awards for academic excellence.

Cody advises businesses on a wide range of employment and business law topics. Her guidance covers contract rights, non-competes, wage and hour compliance, ADA and FMLA concerns, employment policies, hiring and termination decisions, and reductions in force. She helps clients remain compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.

Cody represents clients in litigation across state and federal courts. Her experience includes employment disputes, business torts, and construction litigation. She also handles matters before administrative bodies such as the EEOC, DOL, and Office of Administrative Law Judges, defending against claims involving harassment, discrimination, and unfair labor practices.

Cody gained valuable experience working in-house for a Fortune 500 company. There, she managed daily employment compliance and litigation matters. This role deepened her understanding of how to provide clients with practical, real-world legal advice that supports both immediate and long-term business goals.

Cody has been recognized in the Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch rankings for her work in ERISA law and labor and employment litigation. She is admitted to practice in Nebraska, Iowa, and multiple federal courts. She is also an active member of local and national bar associations and has completed leadership programs, including Leadership Omaha Class 43 and LeadDIVERSITY Advocate 2021–2022.
