Cindy L. Szabo

Cindy L. Szabo is a Partner at Morris James LLP and chairs the firm’s Trusts and Estates Practice. Her Delaware practice, including work from the Dover office, concentrates on estate planning, estate administration, and real estate. Szabo advises individuals and families on wills, trusts, tax planning, elder care, guardianship, and property transactions, helping clients coordinate legal arrangements that can affect wealth transfer, health decisions, long-term care, and family responsibilities.

Szabo earned a J.D. from Tulane Law School in 1998 and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1994. She has been admitted in Delaware, New York, and New Jersey. Her education and multistate experience support sophisticated planning work involving trusts, estate and gift tax considerations, fiduciary duties, real estate, and the administration of estates and trusts after a client’s death.

Her planning work includes wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, life insurance trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, dynasty and generation-skipping arrangements, advance health care directives, powers of attorney, special needs planning, elder law and Medicaid planning, charitable planning, guardianships, and lifetime gifts. Szabo also assists executors and trustees with probate and estate or trust administration and handles federal estate and gift tax returns, residential settlements, commercial settlements, and refinancings.
