Christy A. Zlatkus

Christy A. Zlatkus is the founder and CEO of Z Family Law in Rockville, Maryland. Her family law practice focuses on helping clients navigate divorce, custody, support, and other major family transitions with a structured legal strategy. She works with clients to understand the process, identify priorities, and pursue informed resolutions. Her training includes collaborative law, mediation, parent coordination, child counsel, and family law trial advocacy.

Zlatkus earned a J.D. from George Washington University School of Law in 2009. She received two B.A. degrees from the University of Maryland College Park in 2006, studying History and Government and Politics with High Honors. After law school, she served for two years as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Sherrie L. Krauser in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Zlatkus spent eight years at another family law firm before launching Z Family Law. Her work includes settlement-focused representation and courtroom advocacy, supported by training as a mediator and in collaborative law. She has served in Montgomery County bar leadership and continuing legal education roles, and her admissions include Maryland, the District of Columbia, the US District Court for the District of Maryland, and the US Supreme Court.
