Christopher T. Caplinger

Christopher T. Caplinger is Senior Counsel at Kean Miller in New Orleans and a certified Business Bankruptcy Law Specialist. His practice focuses on bankruptcy, restructuring, creditors’ rights, commercial litigation, marine insurance coverage, and oil and gas matters. He represents Chapter 11 debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, and other parties in insolvency proceedings and related disputes, serving clients across industries including energy, healthcare, hospitality, retail, marine, and transportation.

Caplinger earned his J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 1997, where he served as Vice Magister of Phi Delta Phi. He also earned an M.A. in Religious Studies from Loyola University New Orleans in 1997 and a B.A. in Politics and Religion from the College of William & Mary in 1994. During law school, he gained experience through judicial and U.S. Trustee-related placements.

Caplinger handles Chapter 11 matters for debtors and creditors as well as creditor issues in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 proceedings. His work includes bankruptcy litigation, restructuring strategy, creditors’ rights, commercial disputes, and insurance-related matters. He has represented clients in industries such as energy, food and beverage, healthcare, hospitality, entertainment and gaming, marine services, retail, and trucking, where financial distress can intersect with operational and contractual concerns.

Christopher T. His certification in Business Bankruptcy Law reflects concentrated experience in the field.
