About

Christopher S. Norman is a partner at Wais, Vogelstein, Forman, Koch & Norman, LLC, a medical malpractice firm with offices including Chicago. He represents people harmed by medical negligence, with particular attention to children who have suffered brain injuries connected to obstetrical or neonatal care. His practice includes birth injury and catastrophic malpractice litigation. He handles claims requiring detailed analysis of medical records, treatment decisions, and the lasting effects of serious injuries.

Christopher earned a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from Salisbury University, where he participated in the Bellavance Honors Program and received academic honors. He later graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law, serving as senior staff editor of the Intellectual Property Law Journal. He also clerked for the Maryland Court of Appeals’ Standing Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure. This training supports his research-intensive medical malpractice practice.

Christopher previously defended medical malpractice cases before shifting to representation of injured patients. He has personally secured more than $100 million in verdicts and settlements for clients, including individual recoveries exceeding $10 million. His birth injury work has included cases in Illinois, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and several other states. He focuses on claims involving children with neurological injuries and on contested questions about the standard and consequences of medical care.

Christopher S. Norman received Maryland Leaders in Law recognition in 2024 and has been selected for Super Lawyers Rising Stars. He has also served for more than a decade on the Board of Governors of the Maryland Association for Justice and has participated in its legislative work. His experience on both sides of malpractice litigation helps him assess defenses, develop supporting evidence, and advocate for children and families facing significant long-term consequences after medical negligence.
