Christopher M. Adams is a senior shareholder at Collins & Lacy, where his practice centers on construction litigation and dispute resolution. Known for his steady, practical approach, he represents contractors, developers, and design professionals facing complex claims, guiding them through challenges that often carry significant financial and operational impact.
Chris earned both his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and a B.S. in Marketing and Human Resources from the University of South Carolina. During his time there, he was a member of the baseball team and was recognized as an SEC Scholar-Athlete.
Chris’s work spans a wide range of construction-related matters, including defect claims, mechanics liens, and disputes involving architects and engineers. He also handles cases involving serious bodily injury on construction sites, as well as claims tied to the design, manufacture, and sale of construction and consumer products.
Early in his career, Chris clerked for the Honorable James Johnson, Jr., and later served as an Assistant Solicitor, experiences that shaped his ability to assess cases from multiple angles. That foundation continues to inform his measured, strategic approach to litigation and negotiation.
Chris has been recognized by Best Lawyers and holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale Hubbell. He is also a charter fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America, an invitation-only organization that commands high respect within the construction law community.
