Christopher L. Kelly

Christopher L. Kelly is a shareholder at Parmenter Law in Muskegon, Michigan, where he focuses on business law, commercial leasing, entity formation, and real estate law. He joined the firm in 1985, the same year he graduated from law school. He has represented clients in business and real estate matters since that time. As a Muskegon native, he brings local knowledge to projects supporting the area’s continued growth and redevelopment.

Christopher earned his B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1982. He received his J.D. from California Western School of Law in 1985. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1985. He is also admitted before the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan and the Supreme Court of the United States. His professional affiliations include the State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan State Bar Foundation, and the Muskegon County Bar Association, where he served as president.

Christopher uses his business experience to advise clients on entity formation, contracts, financing, purchases, sales, leases, and documents needed for daily operations. He has organized hundreds of business entities and guided clients through complex commercial transactions. He also represents developers in residential subdivisions, commercial sites, strip centers, shopping malls, and other real estate projects. His work may begin with creating a development company and continue through financing, lot sales, and tenant lease negotiations. He has completed commercial leasing projects throughout Michigan and in several other states.
