Christel Croxen

Christel Croxen is a Senior Shareholder at Gjesdahl Law, P.C. in Fargo and focuses on family law. She handles divorce matters involving high-net-worth assets, farms, closely held businesses, succession interests, and trusts, as well as child custody and parenting-time disputes. Croxen also works with collaborative divorce matters and brings financial training to cases where property division and business interests require close review and careful planning.

Croxen received an A.S. in Biology from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2005 and a B.A. in English Literature from the University of South Florida in 2007. She earned her J.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2013 and completed Accounting studies at the University of Minnesota Crookston in 2021. She is also a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, adding focused financial analysis to her family law practice.

Before joining Gjesdahl Law in 2015, Croxen spent two years as a law clerk with the Cass County District Court. Her practice has included negotiated and litigated family law matters as well as appellate work, including Rasmussen v. Harvey. She completed family mediation and collaborative divorce law training in 2016. Her background allows her to address both the procedural demands of family cases and the financial questions that often accompany complex divorces.

Christel Croxen serves on the board of Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota and has been involved in professional and community legal work. Her practice is particularly suited to family law matters where legal decisions intersect with business ownership, agricultural assets, trusts, and long-term financial planning. Croxen combines court experience, financial education, and alternative dispute resolution training to help clients understand their options and work through difficult divorce, custody, and parenting issues.
