Charlie J. Harris, Jr.

Charlie J. Harris, Jr. is an attorney at Seyferth Blumenthal & Harris LLC in Kansas City, Missouri, where he maintains a national employment and business litigation practice. He represents corporations, nonprofit organizations, corporate officers and directors, and municipalities in discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, and collective action matters. Harris earned a B.A. from Tarkio College and a J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 1995. After graduation, he clerked for U.S. District Judge Fernando J. Gaitan, Jr. in the Western District of Missouri, strengthening his foundation in federal litigation and judicial procedure.

His work includes defending claims involving disability, race, gender, sex, and age discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and hour issues, and collective actions. He also serves as an AAA arbitrator and mediator in complex litigation and has been appointed as a special master by state and federal judges to address discovery issues in significant commercial and business cases.

Charlie J. Harris, Jr. was the first African American elected president of The Missouri Bar and has served as a Missouri Supreme Court Disciplinary Hearing Officer. His professional recognition includes Chambers USA, Best Lawyers, Benchmark Litigation, Missouri Lawyers Weekly, and Super Lawyers. In 2026, his name was added to Kansas City’s Freedom Wall Monument to Freedom, Justice and Courage.
