Charles F. Carr

Charles F. Carr is a co-founder and name partner of Carr Allison, a southeast-based civil defense firm. He has more than 40 years of litigation experience in Alabama state and federal courts. His practice includes transportation, complex litigation, personal injury, products liability, commercial disputes, and fraud claims for clients.

Charles earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama and his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law. His education supports a long civil defense practice involving trial work, national coordination, transportation defense, products liability, personal injury claims, commercial disputes, and other complex litigation matters.

Charles has litigated matters across the United States, including Alabama, New York, Texas, Vermont, Arkansas, California, Florida, Mississippi, and Illinois. He has served as national coordinating counsel for complex and catastrophic personal injury cases in about 25 states for a major national insurance carrier and as national trial counsel.

Charles holds an AV Preeminent® rating through Martindale-Hubbell®. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® from 1995 to 2026 and Mid-South Super Lawyers® from 2008 to 2022. He also received the USLAW Network James O’Hagan Award in 2011 and the Alabama State Bar Award of Merit.

Charles has tried more than 250 matters in 50 of Alabama’s 67 counties. He is active with the American College of Transportation Attorneys and previously served as chair. He was the first chair of the ALFA Transportation Practice Group and a founder, board member, and vice chair of USLAW Network.
