Charles E. “Chuck” Halbert, Jr. is an experienced trial attorney who represents clients in criminal defense, family law, and personal injury matters. He began practicing law in 1992 and has handled a wide range of cases, from misdemeanor charges to capital murder. Over the years, he has tried or settled hundreds of cases. His office manages traffic offenses, DUI/DWI charges, felonies, divorces, custody disputes, and injury claims.
Chuck earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Arkansas in 1989. He received his J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1991. His legal education provided a strong foundation in litigation, trial strategy, and constitutional law. This training prepared him to advocate effectively in both criminal and civil courts. He applies this academic background to every case he handles.
Chuck has served as a Public Defender for Phillips County and as an attorney for the Child Support Enforcement Unit. He has extensive experience in paternity, child support, custody, and visitation disputes. In personal injury law, he has successfully litigated cases involving medical malpractice, car accidents, nursing home neglect, product liability, and premises liability. He has obtained significant settlements and has represented clients in thousands of injury cases over his career.
Throughout his career, Charles E. “Chuck” Halbert, Jr. has remained active in professional organizations, including the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Bar Association, and the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association. He is a founding member of the Arkansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and a former president of the Phillips County Bar Association.
