Charles D. Hunter

Charles D. Hunter is a partner at Kobayashi Sugita & Goda in Honolulu, Hawaii, with experience in commercial litigation and business and real estate matters. His work includes commercial and construction litigation, appeals, real estate transactions, business sales and acquisitions, entity formation, mergers and reorganizations, real estate financing, commercial leasing, and general corporate matters. His practice is informed by earlier experience as a commercial real estate broker, giving him practical familiarity with transactions, property assets, and the business considerations surrounding real estate deals.

Hunter graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2012, where he received academic honors including Order of the Coif recognition. His legal education strengthened research, writing, and analytical skills used across litigation and transactional work. That training complements his substantial pre-law experience in commercial real estate and business-oriented negotiations.

Hunter worked as a commercial real estate broker with CBRE before practicing law and participated in more than seventy-five sales and one hundred thirty-five leasing transactions involving nearly one billion dollars in assets. He now applies that market experience to legal work involving real estate, corporate transactions, construction disputes, commercial litigation, and appeals. That experience supports a practical approach to evaluating facts, managing procedure, and developing strategies suited to the legal issues presented.
