About
Charles B. Melcombe is an associate attorney at Copeland Richards, PLLC, a North Carolina firm handling civil litigation, business law, and real estate law. He represents and counsels individuals and business clients in disputes and other legal matters affecting their interests. His experience encompasses litigation involving property and business concerns. He works with clients who need to assess contested claims, understand litigation risks, and pursue workable resolutions.
Melcombe earned a J.D. from Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law in 2018 and a B.A. from Pepperdine University Seaver College in 2015. In law school, he served as a staff writer and Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary. Before joining Copeland Richards, Melcombe practiced in the civil litigation department of a Charlotte-area real estate law firm and eventually led that department. His background includes real estate litigation, business law, and other contested civil matters. He draws on that experience to analyze disputes, review legal positions, and assist clients through different stages of a case, from early assessment to litigation-related decisions.
Melcombe was admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2019 and to the federal district courts in North Carolina in 2020. His professional activities include participation in the North Carolina Bar Association’s Grab a Coffee attorney volunteer program and Pepperdine’s preceptor program. Charles B. Melcombe combines courtroom-related experience, client counseling, and an understanding of property and commercial disputes in his legal practice.
