Changfang Xu

Changfang Xu is an associate attorney at The Behan Law Group, P.L.L.C., where she focuses her practice on criminal defense and DUI cases. She brings a global legal perspective and a deep commitment to protecting clients’ constitutional rights through thorough advocacy and strategic litigation.

Changfang earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. She received the Dean’s Achievement Award Scholarship, a full-tuition scholarship awarded for academic excellence. She also holds a B.A. in English from the Southwest University of Political Science and Law in China.

Prior to practicing in the United States, Changfang passed the National Bar Exam in China and became licensed after completing a year of intensive legal training. She practiced civil and commercial litigation in Shanghai before relocating to Tucson to pursue her U.S. legal career.

While in law school, Changfang clerked for the Honorable Greg Sakall at the Pima County Superior Court and served as an editor of the Arizona Journal of International & Comparative Law. She also represented minors in dependency proceedings through the Child and Family Law Clinic and earned an award for excellence in brief writing during a competitive moot court tournament.

Since joining The Behan Law Group, Changfang has helped secure favorable outcomes for clients in challenging criminal matters. Her casework includes dismissals arising from speedy-trial and right-to-counsel violations, showcasing her ability to challenge procedural errors and unconstitutional practices.

Changfang Xu is admitted to practice law in Arizona, New York, the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, and the People’s Republic of China. She is also a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the National College for DUI Defense, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
