Catherine Henry is an experienced criminal defense attorney dedicated to protecting her client’s rights through strategic, client-centered representation. With a strong background in trial advocacy, she brings invaluable experience gained during her tenure at the Public Defender’s Office in Florida’s Sixth Judicial Circuit.
Catherine began her legal career defending indigent clients accused of misdemeanor domestic violence charges, including violations of injunctions, domestic battery, assault, and stalking. In this role, she successfully brought several cases to trial and achieved numerous dismissals without litigation.
Her expertise expanded as a Baker Act attorney, representing individuals facing involuntary hospitalization, and later as a felony defender in circuit court, where she tackled complex criminal cases. Partnering with the American Civil Liberties Union, she litigated pretrial detention issues, advocating for affordable bonds and pretrial release for clients held in custody.
Her transition to private practice carries the same commitment to excellence. Catherine emphasizes accessibility and direct communication, ensuring her clients receive personalized representation. She combines her extensive legal knowledge with a passion for holding the state accountable and building robust defenses that secure favorable outcomes.
Catherine holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of North Florida and earned her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. Her professional affiliations include the St. Petersburg Bar Association, where she serves as Secretary and previously chaired the Criminal Law Section. She has also held leadership roles with the Pinellas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.
Active in her community, Catherine contributes her time to initiatives like Lawyers for Literacy and previously volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem for Pinellas County.
