Caryl Jacobs Gabe

Caryl Jacobs Gabe is a highly experienced family law attorney with more than five decades of dedicated legal service. She has built her career around helping individuals and families navigate difficult situations involving divorce, custody, support, and complex asset issues. Caryl graduated with honors from Bronx High School of Science. She went on to complete her Bachelor’s degree, earning cum laude from Brooklyn College. She later received her J.D. from John Marshall Law School, graduating with honors and serving on Law Review. She was also awarded the Order of John Marshall for academic excellence.

Caryl began her legal career as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois, where she handled paternity and welfare fraud litigation. She later practiced at Kaufman & Litwin, concentrating exclusively on family law. From there, she co-founded Gabe & Gabe, Attorneys at Law, where she continued representing clients in complex family matters. In 1993, she established the Law Firm of Caryl Jacobs Gabe, Ltd., where she continues to focus her practice on helping clients resolve issues involving divorce, custody, child support, orders of protection, and high-asset cases.

Caryl has written articles on confidentiality in professional relationships and contributed to appellate discussions in cases involving retirement benefit calculations over the years. She has also lectured on topics such as orders of protection, child support, and preparing for substantial asset divorce proceedings. Her dedication to the legal community includes work as a Moot Court Judge and active participation in professional organizations at the local and state levels.
