Carter earned his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, FL. He also holds a B.S. in Industrial Relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he attended on a full wrestling scholarship. He completed his secondary education at Tabor Academy in Marion, MA. His legal education laid the foundation for a career built on discipline, preparation, and client-focused representation.

Carter built what is now one of the largest personal injury law firms in the state, starting in a one-room office in Milford, Connecticut.
