Carla M. Handy

Carla M. Handy is the managing partner and a shareholder of Bond, Botes & Handy, P.C., with offices in Gadsden and Anniston, Alabama. She focuses on consumer bankruptcy and has practiced in the Gadsden area since 1994. Her work includes Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases for individuals, along with Chapter 12 bankruptcy cases for family farmers seeking help with financial distress.

Carla earned a Bachelor of Arts from Auburn University in 1986 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1990. She received the Johnstone Adams Oil & Gas Award in 1990. Her admissions include the State of Alabama in 1990 and the Northern District of Alabama in 1994, supporting her work in state and federal legal proceedings.

Carla initially worked in an oil and gas practice in Tuscaloosa before returning to Gadsden in 1994. She began handling consumer bankruptcy after another attorney transferred his existing bankruptcy cases to her. She opened her Gadsden office in December 2011 and added an Anniston office in March 2018.
